A Girls Getaway in Williamsburg Always Includes Shopping!
Williamsburg has history.
Williamsburg has terrific
outdoor
activities.
And Williamsburg has SHOPPING! Lots of it.
No shop-anista's trip to Williamsburg is complete without checking out
The Shops at High Street. The street actually is a mixed-use
urban village and is located in the middle of Williamsburg. A wide
variety of upscale merchants have stores here and they are surrounded by
many restaurants and cafes. In addition, the Movie Tavern, an
eight-screen "cinema cafe" shows first-run movies.
Next to the College of William and Mary is New Town, an
outdoor shopping mall with national chains as well as local stores,
restaurants, a 12-screen movie theatre, salons, gyms, etc.
Who doesn't seek a bargain? The
Prime Outlets at Williamsburg are just minutes from Colonial
Williamsburg and offer bargain-istas 120 name brand stores such as
Banana Republic, Nike, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Coach, Kate Spade and more.
For those who like their outlet mall indoors, try the Williamsburg
Outlet Mall. This factory outlet center has 250,000 square feet of
stores, restaurants and a food court.
A beautiful location and shopping for beautiful things -- what could be
better? If you love history, the beach, great dining and a wide variety
of shops to suit any taste, visit Riverwalk Landing in Yorktown. You can even
walk out on the York River on one of Riverwalk Landing's two docks.
Antique lovers should foot it to the Williamsburg Antique Mall, a
climate controlled space that features more than 400 dealers. The La
Petite Tearoom offers tired antique hunters gourmet lunches and
desserts.
The Williamsburg Marketplace is actually 24 different stores scattered
throughout Colonial Williamsburg, Merchants Square and the
visitors center. It's at these shops that you can find items reproduced
from or inspired by the 18th century. Anything you buy helps support the
Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.
If children are in your party, a
visit to the Toymaker of Williamsburg is in order. The store
sells the usual brand name toys here, but you'll also want to check out
its toy soldier and tin collectibles.
The Christmas Shop has wonderful Williamsburg ornaments to take
home to put on your tree; some are imported from Italy. Click for more info on Christmas!
You'll also want to make a stop at the Williamsburg Pottery Factory.
You can find items from more than 20 countries at the store. It's here
that you'll find the famous salt glaze pottery, custom framing, flower
arrangements, custom made pictures, and more. It's quite the popular
place -- with more than five million visitors a year coming to its 32
buildings (and using its 8,000 parking spaces), the Williamsburg Pottery
Factory is now one of Virginia's top tourist attractions. There is so
much to purchase and see, it's easy to get overwhelmed -- so pace
yourself!
No matter what you're looking for, Colonial Williamsburg has it.
Let us know what you're seeking; we can steer you to a great shop or
shopping mall that is bound to have it. Make shopping part of your Williamsburg getaway!
